The author’s provide detailed survey of this once major lead-zinc mining districts in New Mexico. The district lies about 60 miles south of Albuquerque in Socorro County. The study begins with an overview of the geology, stratigraphy and structure of the area. This is followed by a detailed description of the ore deposits and their genesis and types. The work contains a history of the district and a detailed description of each mine and its workings.
