The work is complete and in the original gray cloth with gilt cover and spine titles and black cover vignettes. The binding is tight, bumping to spine edges and corners. Light foxing to frontispiece and some text edges, owners book plate on pastedown. In very good condition.
Arthur David McCormick FRSG (1860 – 1943) was a notable British illustrator and painter of landscapes, historical scenes, naval subjects, and genre scenes. In 1892–1893 he was an artist on Sir Martin Conway's expedition to the Karakoram subrange of thee Himalayas. McCormick accompanied Conway, Bruce, Zurbriggen, Lloyd-Dicken, Eckenstein & Roudebush on the expedition and chronicled and illustrated the expedition.
