An Algerian mining engineer; Ville (1829-1877) published several important and pioneering works on the mineralogy and mineral deposits of northern Africa. His above work was published separately from a 17 page paper in Soc. Geol. France on the mineralogy and mineral deposits of parts of Algers. The mineralogical maps are very rare.
