A German scientist and traveler; Parrot (1767-1852) provides a description of 29 diamond crystals from the gravels of Count Polier's estate in the Ural Mountains. The crystals were found in 1829 and kept by Count Polier's widow. Parrot describes the possible source of the gravels and diamonds and the plate shows a diamond specimen with inclusions.
