The work is complete and in a modern archival folder with the original plain brown wraps bound in. The binding is tight and clean, edge wear to brown wraps repaired with archival tape, text is uncut and very clean, plates are pristine. In very good condition.
A Swiss paleontologist and botanist with the University of Zurich; Heer ( 1809-1883) is best noted for his studies in paleobotany and his text "Die Urwelt der Schweiz". Much of his work in paleobotany focused on the Arctic and Scandanavian regions. His above work is a systematic and descriptive study of the fossil flora from the Spitsbergen region of Norway. It is considered a classic work in paleobotany.
